The rules were rewritten when the ZX10R was launched back in 2004. Much like the original CBR900RR, R1, and GSXR1000, the big Kawi was a landmark bike, forcing everyone else to play catch-up by building a machine with more power than anyone had ever seen from a 1000cc production engine in a package as small or smaller than pretty much all 600cc supersports (and nearly as light).
To this day, the '04-'05 ZX10Rs are renowned for their prodigious powerband and race-ready feel. Some might even say the more recent incarnations have yet to capture the immediacy of the original. This raw nature is no doubt what drew riders in, but what happens after you get used to the power? Do you seek out a newer bike to stay on the cutting edge, or do you want something more? If you have come across this page, you already know the answer.
Enter the A&A Performance Supercharger Kit. Without changing any major internals, and with the ability to perform the installation yourself, you can have a bike that will significantly outpace the brand new crop of liter-bikes and pretty much anything else you come across for around one third the cost of a new machine. Best of all, you retain all the rideability you currently enjoy, but with way more oomph should you feel the urge.

This kit is not some thrown together mess of parts; it is a thoroughly engineered, road tested and tuned system that was meant to be installed by the average enthusiast and will increase the power of your bike by a legitimate 40-50%.
While the power produced is remarkably controllable, the instant nature of the throttle response and the never-ending power supply means that beginner riders need not apply. Thanks to the vacuum operated bypass valve, part throttle cruising and light acceleration are unchanged from stock and gas mileage is only affected under heavy acceleration.
With virtually silent overall operation and the ability to hide under the stock fairings, the installed kit is virtually indistinguishable from a stock setup. Low maintenance requirements and choice component selection ensure reliable operation for years to come, along with more guaranteed smiles per mile than anything else you can buy for your bike.
All major components are included, with the exception of a Power Commander III (required for tuning). It is recommended that any parts in poor shape be replaced, and vital fluids (oil, coolant) be changed as well.
You will need basic sets of metric & standard tools (screwdrivers, sockets, open-end wrenches, hex keys), a torque wrench, cutting shears, files, pliers, and a 15/64" drill.
While certainly not necessary, an aftermarket slip-on exhaust will help your hungry engine produce even more power acoss its entire powerband. A boost gauge is not included, and component polishing is available upon request.
If sustained high-rpm riding will be encountered on a regular basis (or for periods of longer than 10-15 seconds at a time), a thicker head gasket, forced induction pistons, octane booster/race gas, and/or water/methanol injection should be employed to keep cylinder temperatures in check due to the high-compression ratio of the stock internals.
If you love your bike but catch yourself eyeing newer machines sporting slightly more firepower, this is the mod for you. With this kit, you retain all the benefits of owning a first-gen ZX10 without dropping a fortune on a new bike, plus you'll get to enjoy the perks of piloting a blown sportbike – there just ain't nuthin' like it.
